Network and Data Security
- Authorized access to the campus network is limited to the user to whom the laptop or device is issued. Users should not allow unauthorized access to the network through their account or their device.
- Users should use passwords or encryption for sensitive documents and data. Users should also implement security measures to prevent unauthorized access to the device (i.e., set passwords for boot-up, for waking the device from sleep, etc.). The user is also required to install and update anti-malware software recommended by ICT. The user will also be responsible for making regular backups of the data on the device through a service provided by ICT.
- Content that is not in keeping with the university’s corporate culture, or with recognized laws such as those relating to intellectual property, is prohibited from the university's network and from any device that connects to the network regardless of the ownership of such devices.
